How To Make The Best Crab Cake Deviled Eggs

Where are my crab cake and deviled egg lovers?! Today, I decided to share one of my favorites – Crab Cake Deviled Eggs! My first time having these was at The Majestic restaurant in Alexandria, VA. I fell in love and asked my husband to please make them. Since it’s easy to recreate, I decided to share the recipe below for you!

Step-By-Step Instructions (Yolk Filling)

  1. Bring a pot of water to a boil
  2. Once the water is boiling, place the eggs in the boiling water and set a timer for 10 minutes
  3. While the eggs are boiling prepare an ice water bath and set aside. After 10 minutes, remove the eggs from the water and place in the ice water bath
  4. When the eggs have cooled, peel them and slice in half lengthwise.
  5. Remove the egg yolks using a spoon to a bowl and place the egg whites on an egg tray
  6. Mash the yolks with a fork, add the mayonnaise, sugar, salt, and pepper to taste until filling is smooth and combined
  7. Use a pastry bag or ziploc bag to add the filling
  8. Fill the yolk mixture into the hole of the egg whites
  9. Place the eggs in the fridge to chill

Step-By-Step Instructions (Mini Crab Cake Balls)

  1. Dice onions and parsley to your liking. Cut mini sweet peppers into rounds for garnishing at the end. 
  2. Check the crab meat and remove any shells
  3. Combine crab meat, onions, parsley, Dijon mustard, mayonnaise, old bay seasoning and lemon juice in a bowl
  4. Once mixed, form into mini crab cake balls
  5. Heat your avocado or canola oil (just enough oil to cover the bottom of the pan) 
  6. Once the oil is hot, place the mini crab cake balls in the pan until golden brown on both sides.
  7. Place the mini crab cakes balls on a baking rack or a plate to drain excess oil
  8. Remove the eggs from the fridge and add mini crab cakes to each egg
  9. Garnish with mini sweet peppers and parsley
  10. Now it’s time to taste and enjoy your crab cake deviled eggs!
