Here Are 7 Things To Do While Under Quarantine

Coronavirus pandemic? Self-quarantine? Nah, not in America! Fast forward to the present day, where it is recommended by the CDC to walk six feet apart while wearing face masks, gloves, and to disinfect frequently. Who would have thought we would be confined to our homes, only going out for groceries and medication? 😭

For most of us, being in quarantine is a new experience. And if you were like me, you thought this would be over in a few weeks, and life would resume. Yet, here we are weeks later, living our new reality. For how much longer, who knows, but when life puts you in unusual situations, you have to make the best of it.

Right now is the perfect opportunity to reflect on your life. Are you happy? How can you become the best version of yourself? Yes, we’re all mentally drained from being isolated in our homes, but always remember to be grateful for your blessings.

Have you seen Tiger King? Listen, Carole did it, but that’s another subject. While Netflix is entertaining, I can only watch so much before feeling guilty that I should be doing more productive things, such as learning a new skill or reading a book. And since we’re under quarantine, now is the time to keep busy.

Here are 7 things you can do to take advantage and boss up while under quarantine!

1. Read A Book

It’s time to get those creative juices flowing by reading a book. I wanted a book that would enlighten me, so I decided on Rich Dad Poor Dad. This book advocates the importance of financial literacy by comparing the mindsets of a poor father and a rich father. Sounds like a good read, right?

Another great book is The 21-Day Financial Fast. Listen, this fast isn’t for the weak, and it’s mind over matter. However, if you’re looking for ways to break bad spending habits and budget your money better from a biblical perspective, THIS-IS-FOR-YOU!

Lastly, if you read my 30th birthday post, you know how I feel about The Secret (SO bomb!). The Secret teaches the law of attraction and manifestation. If you’re having a hard time believing in yourself – I highly recommend reading this.

2. Take Free Courses At Ivy League Schools

Yes, this is a thing! The eight Ivy League schools are among the most prestigious colleges in the world. They include Brown, Harvard, Cornell, Princeton, Dartmouth, Yale, and Columbia universities, and the University of Pennsylvania.

There are hundreds of free courses from web programming to marketing that is available for the public. If you’ve always wanted to attend Harvard, sign-up and begin your free course! FREE? – it doesn’t get any better than that!

3. Spring Cleaning

Cleaning can be a daunting task for some, but let’s face it: clutter is stressful. During this time, you can reduce your stress levels by cleaning out your closets, pantry, kitchen, and more. Take advantage of having more time on your hands by organizing your space and keeping it tidy. If you need inspiration, get inspired by watching Tidying Up with Maria Kondo on Netflix, or check out Pinterest

4. Exercise

No gym? No problem! There are tons of at-home workouts available on YouTube to increase your energy levels. Yoga is also a great option that offers multiple benefits to improve your mental and physical help. If you need to relieve anxiety or ease your mind, take some time and woooosah!

5. Self-Care

Take care of yourself! There are many things you can do to relax. For instance, a big ass nice glass of wine, meditating, facial masks, napping, journaling, mani-pedis, your hair, whatever it is that brings you contentment, do it.

6. Learn A New Language

Learning a new language just got that much easier. Duolingo is a self-paced language app that offers 30+ languages for free. While Duolingo is fun, it can become addictive as you earn points and other incentives for correct answers. So without further ado, get to babbling. Adios!

7. Research And Start Your Business

Do you know that business you keep talking about starting? It’s scary for sure, but you have no excuse while you’re home looking for things to do. Start by googling business plan templates and go from there. Always remember, google is your BFF!

While it may be a frustrating time, quarantine won’t last forever. Use this time to appreciate life and your blessings. Stay safe and sane y’all! 💕

Ashlee
